• Question: how are glaciers formed?

      What a good question. Glaciers form when snow is able to fall and remain undisturbed in the same place for years and years – over time the falling snow compresses the lower layers and this turns into ice, eventually becoming one huge block of it.

      I think glaciers are amazing because of the incredible landscapes they carve out as they slide over the land. In fact I went on holiday to Yorkshire (I like hiking) this year and there’s this totally spectacular place called Gordale Scar – it’s like being in a movie! So here’s a picture of it for you, should you ever want to go and visit 🙂
