Working with really scary lasers. Not even because the lasers are that much fun to work with, I just like the looks on peoples faces when I tell them about what can happen if you aren’t careful when you use them.
I work on Salisbury Plain, and often we get to take our small-scale science and make it big scale out in the open, or train the Army/RAF to do chemical surveys using their detectors. To do this we have to get dressed up in protective suits to handle the chemicals out in the open, like this: (just without the gun!)
Its fun, and salisbury plain is spectacularly beautiful and has a bunch of amazing wildlife. Espcially on a day like today when there’s clear blue sky!
