How geeky is it to answer maths?

I like how simple physics can make things: we look at complicated stuff like planes or baseball or space travel, and sit down and simplify it until we can do some cool maths on it (mostly using equations we learned at school), and then we can predict what will happen or make something work or solve a problem. It makes me feel better about how complicated life can be sometimes to think that so much of it is determined by such simple rules.
